Ph.D. Student – Neuroscience Graduate Program (NSGP)

Krishna earned a BS in Biology and a BA in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2017. Post-graduation, she taught Biology and Biomedical Science at the secondary level and worked as a research technician at the Stowers Institute. Her interest in understanding the cellular mechanisms of nervous system development and love of Drosophila brought her to the O’Connor-Giles lab —where she hopes to elucidate the role of PDZD8 in promoting synapse expansion and its involvement in intellectual disability. Outside of research, Krishna enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning new things via podcasts and books, and being in nature.
